About the Workshop

This is a 1- to 2-hour experience course, limited to one group (up to 5 people) per day.
Reservations must be made at least one month in advance.
Please note that the experience course is a paid service.

Additionally, we are unable to provide explanations in English. We kindly request that you bring an interpreter with you.
If bringing an interpreter is difficult, we can arrange one for you, but an additional interpreter fee will apply.

Flow of the Workshop

01We will explain the Japanese sword production process while you watch a video.

02We will provide commentary while you look at a Japanese sword.

03You can actually hold a Japanese sword and take commemorative photos with your group.

04You will observe the swordsmith at work in the forge.

05You will participate in hands-on workshops, such as sente (assisting the swordsmith with secondary hammering).

06You will tour the forge.

07Finally, you can take commemorative photos.
